Designing with Bar Panels

Panel 1Bar panels give a finished look to the rear of the cabinets as well as covering screw holes and any services you may have running underneath. Effective design in any kitchen layout means paying attention to the small details.

Remember – the carcass of kitchen flat packs are assembled using screws – this means the screws are visible from the back of the cabinet… and you will see the space under the cabinet from behind.

We can finish our design by using Bar Panels – this is a simple design option to which allows an Island Benchtop to be incorporated into your design….

Step 1 – Complete the Basic Design

Design your layout… use the snap feature to allow each cabinet to touch each other….

In this design (below) we want the island leg to have a [900mm deep] breakfast bar benchtop and we will finish this with Bar Panels (see red boxes below).

Step 2A – Apply Bar Panels to your Design

Select the first cabinet – in this case the 900 Floor 2-Door Cabinet – and then click the ADD Bar Panel button under the Product Details section… (until the Button changes to green). You will then note the Bar Panel on the cabinet will turn blue.

Simply continue until all REQUIRED cabinets have a bar panel

Step 2B – Any End Panels?

In this case, don’t forget to add the End Panels to the outside of the end cabinets…

Step 3 –  L-Shaped Layouts and Bar Panels

Choose your preferred corner option (corner cabinet or blind corner)… both will work neatly in this space.

In this situation, you can select the corner cabinet & then apply Bar Panel & only the free side (not adjacent to the wall) will receive a Bar Panel…

Step 4 – Check your Quotation Details

Your Bar Panels will automatically assume the colour of the cabinet that they are added from… [Blue circle]

Where two or more cabinets are touching the Bar Panels will combine and the split into equal divisions (give or take a mm) out to a maximum length of 1180mm each….

Let’s look at the example below… 2 x 900mm cabinets plus a 16mm end panel give a total length of 1816mm which is then split into two equal bar panels of 908mm each… [Red circle]

And remember: like all lineal design elements from Semble, you only pay for the actual length you need!
